This module provides an introduction to Māori health, Te Ao Māori and culturally safe nursing practice in Aotearoa New Zealand. You will explore Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Te Reo Māori, tikanga Māori, Māori models of health, whānau-centred care and rongoā Māori, with practical application to common nursing situations. Through reflection and assessment, you will develop greater confidence in providing respectful, culturally responsive care that supports Māori health and wellbeing.
